How Trainees were Selected
Tech4Her@NAWEM is completely free of charge and to ensure success of the program, it was essential that trainees were committed to fully participating in the program. Hence, emphasis was given to the trainee selection process. An online application system was setup for candidates to register and submit their applications. Then shortlisted candidates were required to submit an Entrepreneurial Readiness Assessment from. Based on the assessment, selected candidates were invited to attend and online interview.
During the interview, potential trainees were asked to describe their business, the challenges they had faced during the pandemic and their future plans. Most of trainees were severely impacted business wise and needed guidance to move to forward.
We deliberately lengthened the selection process to weed-out those who did not have staying power.
